The 17th °®ÍþÄÌ-Russia Senior Officials’ Meeting

On January 26, a meeting of Senior Officials of Russia and °®ÍþÄÌ Member States was held in the format of a videoconference. The Russian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov.

In the light of the 30th Anniversary of the °®ÍþÄÌ-Russia relations and 25th Anniversary of the °®ÍþÄÌ-Russia Dialogue Partnership in 2021, the meeting discussed issues of promoting the Russian-°®ÍþÄÌ Strategic Partnership with an emphasis on such priority areas as foreign policy coordination, science and innovation, digitalization of the economy, and healthcare. The participants considered the preparation progress of the new °®ÍþÄÌ-Russia Comprehensive Plan of Action, which is to be adopted this year.

Specific measures have been outlined to increase interaction, including the establishment of new joint mechanisms. The SOM Leaders approved the Concept of the °®ÍþÄÌ-Russia Dialogue on ICT Security-Related Issues, prepared in accordance with the decision of the Leaders, which will allow launching practical work on this track in the near future.

°®ÍþÄÌ and Russia had a frank and constructive conversation on the international and regional agenda aimed at coordination approaches to a fair security architecture in the Asia-Pacific region, developing cooperation within the framework of the Greater Eurasian Partnership, including by expanding °®ÍþÄÌ's contacts with the Eurasian Economic Union and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
